Getting used to the camera?

So Landon has been the victim of the camera a few times. I started taking his Christmas pictures last night....
He only cried when I first put him in the basket; I stripped him and fed him so he was happy for the rest. You'll have to wait till Christmas cards come out to see the others :)

Family of Three

He looks like his daddy, doesn't he?

Landon David arrived on Tuesday October 27, 2009. He is three weeks old today... yes, I went three weeks without posting a picture of him - CRAZY. Life has been a little crazy adjusting to being a family of three. I am amazed at how hard it is to shower daily, remember to eat breakfast or lunch, or take a little time for myself when I am focused on taking care of Landon. Today was the 6th day in a row that we have been out of the house though... today we were only gone for 15 minutes, but that still counts right? Being out of the house means that I trade my sweats for real clothes and Landon trades his bag (gown) for a sleeper or real outfit. When Mom was in Arkansas babysitting I didn't take any pictures of Landon - a whole week. So Mom was sure to have me take a few snapshots of Landon the day she returned. Enjoy!

Touch of Dutch

This weekend was the Touch of Dutch parade and all of my nieces and nephews were around for it. Trista and Trace had never experienced a parade before and they absolutely loved it. Trace waved at EVERY tractor! Here are some snapshots my sister and I took... she's so good.

Precious

Precious Kennedy! Look at this little girl.... Kennedy Joy. Isn't she just adorable? When I took her pictures last Friday she was only 8 days old. Brian and Eryn have been blessed! Of course, soon she'll have a cute boyfriend.... our little one is coming in October. :) And yes, I'm sure I'll be posting many pictures of him.

Mitchell turns 1!

Mitchell, Kevan and Ang's son, turned one this month. So he and Aunt Kay had a picture morning. Let me tell you, it was a little crazy! Mitchell smiles really well, loves to giggle and make noises but only when someone is really close to his face. Therefore, out came the tripod and remote so I could play with him. It was going really well until I noticed he had moved out of the viewing frame when he was REALLY happy. See how it was a bit crazy? Well, even without those pictures, he sure is cute isn't he?

Katie and Carl

I recently had the honor of photographing Katie and Carl's wedding. I've know both Katie and Carl for a long time as Katie and I used to swim at my cousin's house together and Carl and I grew up in the same church. They were so fun and as you see from the photographs, had no problem practicing kissing :)

Indiana Ice

I had a last minute request to create a 3x5 foot banner for our local softball team from pictures parents had taken over the season and to take a new team picture along with individual pictures. After multiple hours in photoshop sizing each photo just right, here is the final banner. (The original file is so big it takes 10 minutes to open, so I scaled it down to low resolution for the blog.)

Family Portrait

I took our family portraits on vacation and I am so pleased! This is my family: Kevan and Ang with Mitchell and Allie is in front of my mom, Kari and Ryan with Trace and Trista is in front of my dad, my parents Ralph and Ardy, Kris and Kristen with Kade, Kamden, and Kaia, and then Jeff and I. I'm ordering Mom a 16x20 print for her living room. I can't wait to see the print in person.

Family Time in Gulf Shores, AL

We are blessed to be a family that enjoys spending time together! Just a few weeks ago, my entire family traveled to Gulf Shores, AL to vacation together for a whole week. Yes, all 17 of us in one house :) We (kids and adults too) had so much fun riding the golf cart, swimming in the pools and playing by the ocean. One day, Papa saw a pirate who gave him a treasure map, so we went on a treasure hunt. I wonder why Grandma just happened to have bandanas with her that day :). We also ventured out to see the Blue Angels practice and tour the museum. Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful vacation full of fun.

Spring Flowers

This is the second year I was asked to help a high school student take pictures for 4-H. This year, she choose to take pictures of flowers at her house. I was there to remind her to "get close and personal", "remember the rule of thirds" or "forget the rule of thirds". Last year, she and I compared shots on the viewfinders quite a bit while this year I helped her more with her settings. These are some un-edited pictures from my perspective. I'm eager to see her favorites from her perspective.

VanderLugt's Love

I had the pleasure of shooting Ryan and Sarah's wedding this past weekend. They were very fun and easy-going. Sarah made a beautiful bride and Ryan was handsome too. Here are some sneak peaks... Enjoy!

Night Vision

I had my first great night vision this week! While taking pictures at Hamstra Gardens until 9:30 pm, I found myself enjoying the challenge of getting my settings right, using the garden lights, and still keeping good composition. I think Wibert and Peggy will like the drama I caught. Needless to say, I must return!
